Primary-Secondary-Final Search Tags

There is a need at fire/rescue operations for a standardized way to indicate that primary, secondary , and final search procedures have been carried out and/or still need to be carried out.

The Folk's at PSF have answered the call with the development of the PSF Tag. When used in a coordinated effort the PSF tag cuts down on the chance for error or loss of communication through a simple tag system to pass information between search teams responsible for keeping you and I safe in the event of an emergency.

• The PSF tags area practical solution to this problem.

• The PSF tags are a visible, tactile device.

• Ultimately, the PSF tags save time by preventing duplication of effort

• This system provides more orderly and accurate accountability during searches.

Deployment:

The PSF tags are placed outside of the door when a member/team enters an area to perform a search.
Dual application: The tags can be placed on doorknobs (using door handle opening on tag) or placed on the flat surface of a wall or door (using self-adhesive backing on tag.)
The placement of the tag will indicate to others that a Primary and/or Secondary/Final search has been initiated in a particular area.
A PSF tag will be placed on any door/wall where a primary search has begun.
When a secondary search is to take place, a member or team will tear off the lower section of the tag ("Secondary Search" portion) and proceed with his or her search.
When a final search is ordered, the "Final Search" portion of the tag is then torn off. The area is then left with the top section of the tag intact. ("Final Search completed") The "Final Search completed" portion will remain on the doorknobs/handrails or adhered to the door/wall area. The tag is then disposed of by building personnel when the fire incident is completed.
